HILL CLIMB CONTESTS The motor cycle section of the Automobile Association (Otago) held a slow hill climb on Saturday. This was an excellent test of machine control at low speeds and of the pulling power of the engine when running slowly, It was also a severe test of clutches, the odour of burning cork being much in evidence. Although the weather was unfavourable once again, some very keen competition was witnessed. The results were as follows:—E. Smither (A.J.S.) 1. N, Dennison (Rudge) 2. W. Morris (Triumph) and M. Sparrow (Scott), equal. 3. The results of a short, fast, hill climb held afterwards were as follows:—C. Wright (Norton), losec. 1; E. Faithful (Triumph). 15 l-sscc. 2: N. Dennison (Rudge). 15 4-ssec, 3. The next event run by the club will be a Miniature T.T. on September 27. All motor cyclists will be welcome.
