BASKETBALL
SATURDAY'S GAMES Two Senior Grade basketball matches were played on Saturday, and both were well contested. The results were: Kiwi 22, Y.W.C.A. 17. Albany II 18, Y.W.C.A. II 10. When Kiwi played Y.W.C.A. scoring was fairly even in the first half, with neither team dominating the play. Kiwi was the first to settle down, but YWCA. soon retaliated, and at half time the score stood at 9—B in favour of Kiwi. The second spell opened with Kiwi having slightly the better of the play. Y.W.C.A. was battling strenuously, but was unable to stop Kiwi's faster movements. Strong wind interfered with the play in the game Albany II v. Y.W.C.A. 11. The game was a fast one, both teams playing well. Albany showed better combination, however, and the Y.W.C.A. players were unable to break down their oppbnents' defence. The ball travelled up and down rapidly, both teams having an equal share.
