COASTAL SHOWERS PROBABLE Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was Issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— South-westerly winds, strong in exposed positions, otherwise moderate. Weather cold and rather changeable, with passing showers, especially in the west and on the coast. Sea moderate to rather rough. Dominion Forecast.—The anti-cyclone centred over south-eastern Australia has remained almost stationary. Pressure is low to the east and south of New Zealand. Weather cold and changeable generally. Passing showers in western districts and in the far south. Elsewhere mainly fair, but a few scattered showers possible east of the ranges. Weather in Dunedin.—There was a moderate breeze from the south-west yesterday and temperatures were cool, the maximum being 50 degrees. The sky was overcast and towards evening conditions became milder. The barometer reading was 29,86 inches (1011 millibars) at midnight when it had a falling tendency. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 29.80 (1009); noon, 29.85 (1011); 6 p.m., 29.85.(1011): midnight, 29.86 (1011). Thermometer: 8 a.m., 43 degrees; noon. 47 degrees: 6 p.m., 49 degrees midnight, 48 degrees. Maximum, 50 degrees; minimum, 41 degrees. Rainfall for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—.o3in. Sunshine for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—Before noon, 35min; after noon, 15min; total, 50min.
