PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mosgiel Borough Council, at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose, and held on Tuesday, the fourth day of June, 1940, passed the following Resolution, namely:— 1. THAT the Council of the Bcrough of Mosgiel hereby resolves pursuant to the powers and authority vested in it by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” and • Section 41 of “ The Finance Act, 1931 (No. 2),” and of all and every ether power and authority therewith in that behalf enabling it to make a By-law (a draft of which is submitted herewith) extending and amending the provisions of Part II of the Mosgiel Borough By-law Number 1, 1914, containing Clauses 56 to 128 (inclusive) of the said By-law and in particular for the purpose (inter alia) cf (a) prescribing conditions as to the basic requirements for building construction in the said Borough and the obtaining of permits therefor (b) prescribing conditions as to the use of reinforced and plain concrete in the construction of buildings and (c) prescribing conditions relating to panel walls in buildings of reinforced concrete or steel-framed constructions AND THAT for the purposes aforesaid and as such By-law the Council do adept the provisions of Parts I to VI of The New Zealand Standard Code of Building By-laws issued by the New Zealand Standards Institute under the authority of The Honourable The Minis'er of Industries and Commerce Parts I to IV thereof having been published under Government authority in the month of August, 1939, and Parts V and VI having been published under like authority in the month, of December, 1939. 2. THAT this Resolution be submitted to a Special Meeting of the said Council to be held on MONDAY, the eighth day of July, 1940. for Confirmation as a Special Order on which date the proposed By-law will also be submitted fer adoption. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the aforesaid Resolution will be submitted to a Special Meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chamber, Coronation Hall, Mosgiel, on MONDAY, (he eighth day of July, 1940, at 7.30 o’clock p.m., for confirmation as . a Special Order to which Meeting the said Bylaw will also be submitted for adoption.
