EAGER TO SERVE
FIELD AMBULANCE MEN MESSAGE TO M. REYNAUD (Per United Press Association) I AUCKLAND, June 17. “We all know jvhat shellfire and bombs are, and what it is to go the limit, and we could go the limit again. I would like to take into the scheme of emergency precautions in this district all you men of the Field Ambulance. so that if theie ever should be occasion, I could call on you for duty,” said Colonel Murray, officer in charge of emergency precautions in Auckland and North Auckland territory. In response to.the appeal every one of the 162 men attending the eleventh annual reunion of the N.Z.E.F. Field Ambulances, and transport attached, enthusiastically volunteered to serve if required. The reunion decided to send a message to M. Reynaud expressing profound admiration for the armies of France “and the hope and conviction that, through their courage and that of the peoples of France, the sacred city of Paris and the whole soil of France will soon be cleansed and restored ( to peace and liberty. Vive la France.”
