Ministerial Ihe Minister of Agriculture (Mr W. Lee Martin), says our parliamentary reporter, has partially resumed his duties following his absence for some weeks on account of ill-health. He is attending meetings of the Cabinet and caucus. Mr F. Langstone,. who has been deputising for him, will continue to administer his portfolios for another week or two. A cable message from London states that Dr R. Blunden, a graduate of Otago University, has gained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr S. Prebble, of Waltham, Christchurch. has been' anpointed headmaster of the Kaitangata School in succession to Mr C. H. Taylor. Senior Sergeant D, Vaughan, who.has been appointed senior sergeant ! of , police at Dunedin arrived from; the north on Friday. A cable message from Boston states that a New Zealander, Dr Basil Bibby, has been appointed Dean 6f the famous dental school, Tuft’s .College. He is a graduate of Otago University. Mr Mark Fagan. Speaker of the Legislative Council, has returned to his home (says our parliamentary reporter) after several weeks in hospital. He hopes to resume his official duties next month ' Mr W. D. Leask. of the Omakau Post Office staff, has received notice of his transfer to Upper Hutt. Mr W, H. McKechnie is acting as postmaster at Omakau during the absence of Mr H. Alpine on annual leave.
