ANNUAL RECEPTION NEW ZEALAND PRIZEMAN (From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON. May 17. The anual reception of the Royal Empire Society will be held'in the society’s building, Northumberland avenue, on the evening of Empire Day, May 24. The-guests will be received by the chairman of council. There will be a concert, dancing, and an exhibition of rare books and-, documents. During the evening the Frewern Lord Prize will be presented by the chairman of council, Major-general . the Rt. Hon. Sir Frederick Sykes, to Mr W. D Borrie, of Oamaru, for his monograph,; “ Immigration to New Zealand, 1854 to 1880.” Mr Bcrrie is doing research in economics at Gonville and Caius, Cambridge. He is the holder of a British Council Dominion Scholarship to carry out a year’s post-graduate research. The annual reception usually is held at South Kensington.
