CLUTHA PRESBYTERY
INDUCTION OF NEW MINISTER AT OWAKA The Clutha Presbytery met at Owaka Church for the purpose of ordaining and Inducting the Rev. A. R. Harper ffi e pastorate of Owaka. The Rev. A. Wardlaw, of Waitahuna, presided There were also present the Revs. W. C. Comber, F. Winton. R. F. Judson. O. T. Baragwanath, W McNcur, and J. Cawley, Messrs W. A. Anderson, T. Barr. J. Holland, S. Osborne, and S. R. McDowell (elders). . The call having been placed in the hands of Mr Harper, the usual questions were asked and answered. Mr Baragvyanath preached the sermon, exhorting the church to unity. Mr Winton addressed the minister, and Mr McNeur the congrethe service, when Mr Judson presided, greetings were conveyed to the Rev I. G. Borric, of the Dunedin Presybvtery He, too. conveyed the good wishes of the St. Clair congregation, which was also represented by Messrs Miller and Bennett. Addresses of welcome were given by Mr Chapman-Cohen (Anglican), Pastor Hoffman (Baptist), and by representatives of the session and Deacons Court. Many expressed their appreciation of the impressive and able manner in which the service had been conducted. Solos were given by Miss Read and Messrs Craigie and Wilson. During the latter par* of the evening opportunity was taken to address Mr Cawley, who had filled the vacancy until Mr Harper had accepted the call. Mr T Barr spoke of the helpful and Inspiring work done by Mr Cawley. A presentation was then made to him. Mr Cawley, in reply, urged the people to a deeper appreciation of the obligations of the Christian life.
