WEDDING AT WEST WICKHAM
N.Z. BRIDE AND 'GROOM LONDON, Aug. 3. At the little old West Wickham Parish Church, situated in a Park estate, the wedding took place on August 1 of Dr Ronald Lincoln Kennedy, and Miss Marjorie Alison Reid, eldest daughter of Mr D. F. Reid, manager in London of the Bank of New Zealand, and the late Mrs Reid. Dr Kennedy, too. is a New Zealander. He was educated at Wanganui Collegiate School and at Victoria University, Wellington. When he came to London some 12 years ago he took his medical course at St. Mary’s Hospital, He is now in practice at New Milton. Hampshire. The wedding was a quiet one, despite the fact that bride and groom have many friends in the Old Country. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. A, Page, D. 5.0., M.C., Rector of West Wickham.
Mr Reid gave away the bride, who wore a becoming knife-kilted dress of emerald green moire, with embroiderd coatee and a flower-trimmed hat. She carried a sheaf of golden roses with lily of the valley. There were no bridesmaids. Commander John Drinkwater was best man. After the ceremony the party and the few close friends walked across the park, beneath the lovely old trees, to Wickham Court, which is the original home of the father of Anne Boleyn. There are yew-hedged walks in the grounds within whose confines Henry VIII courted his second wife. This old country home is now a wellknown guest house. Dr and Mrs Kennedy left later for their honeymoon, which is being spent on an extensive tour of Scandinavia. Mrs Kennedy was in New Zealand not so long ago. She has friends from north to south of the Dominion. If a few drops of kerosene are added to the starch it will make the ironing easier. * ¥ ¥ To remove grease from cloth, rub bicarbonate of soda, with warm water. If this does not answer, place a piece of blotting paper under the stain and another above it and apply a hot iron to the latter.
