OFFICIAL FORECAST CHANGEABLE CONDITIONS PROBABLE The following is the official weather forecast: — The depression is now passing slowly away to the south-east. Though pressure is still very low in the south, it is rising there, and also over Tasmania. Indications are for:— Winds.—North-west to west or, In; places, south-west: strong at times about and south of Cook Strait, other, wise light ,to moderate south-wester-lies, gradually becoming more general, especially in western areas. Seas. —New • Zealand waters: Moderate on parts of the east coast south of East Cape; elsewhere rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong west to south-west winds; rather rough to rough seas. Weather.—Changeable and with occasional showers in most districts, but more especially in those with a westerly aspect; temperatures rather cooler, WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The weather was dull but warm yesterday morning and later, when the sun shone, the temperature rose to a maximum of 65dcg. Conditions to-day were cloudy and showery, with a light northerly wind, the maximum temperature being’64deg. Barometric pressure continued to fall, and the.reading at 5 p.m. was 29.62in—--1003 millibars. WELLINGTON, June 8. The weather to-day was squally and changeable, with frequent showers. There was a northerly wind. Temperatures were cook the minimum 1 la?t night being 51.9 and the maximum to-; day 56.3 deg. At 3 p.m. to-day the temperature was 54.7 deg and the barometer read 998.1 millibars, or 29.474 m. CHRISTCHURCH. June 8. To-day was fine, suhny and warm, in Christchurch, the temperature reaching a maximum of 66deg in the early afternoon. There was no wind in the morning and a very light northerly in the afternoon.
