WINTER SHOW
CONCLUDING DAY DECREASE IN RECEIPTS RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS Although the attendance figures for the six days showed a decrease when compared with those of last year’s fixture, the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Winter Show whicli was concluded yesterday was, in many respects, one of the most successful yet held. The show was well patronised yesterday and the attendance at night, when the public were given an extra half-hour’s grace beyond the usual closing time of 10 o’clock, was particularly large. Yesterday also brought to a close the round of conferences and gatherings of farmers which form such an important section of the activities of Winter Show week, and many of the delegates who had been visiting Dunedin from other centres left for their homes by car or train. The total receipts amounted to £1513 8s 6d, compared with £1734 7s for last year’s show—a decrease of £220 18s 6d. The following are the figures for the six days, the receipts for the corresponding period of last year also, being given:—
