NORTH-BOUND LINER DELAYED COOK STRAIT CROSSINGS CANCELLED 0 .—- (Special to Daily Times) WELLINGTON. June 7. Strong northerly winds delayed the Union Airways’ Lockheed Electra monoplane which left Dunedin at 8.30 a.m. to-day with passengers and mails for Wellington and Auckland. The machine encountered adverse weather on the trip up the South Island coast and arrived at the Rongotai aerodrome at 12.14 p.m., 39 minvtes behind, schedule. After a stay of about 10 minutes at Rongotai the airliner continued its flight to Auckland. Normally it leaves Wellington at noon. The Cook Strait Airways machines operating between Wellington and Nelson encountered heavy rain and poor visibility in the French Pass area. Two outward trips from Wellington to Nelson were cancelled because of unsuitable flying conditions, and one inward trip from Nelson was cancelled.
