The boxing, although, hot of a particularly high standard, was clean and willing throughout. • The Training College officials responsible for the arrangements were ;Mr R. McMillan (announcer). Officials provided by the Otago Boxing Association were Messrs R. Morris, R. Fulcher and W. D. Boreham (referees), J. Kilmartin, O. E. Brown, and S. Brown (judges), W. D. O'Connell (9st 41b) in the first round. E. Allison (9st 61b) gamed the decision from W. Barsdell (9st '-lb) in the second round. Final . E. Allison beat E. Hamell von; points. •',. Cargo (lOst) on points. T. Nelcer (lOst 21b) fought a tieing bout with R. E. Cocklin. Final R. Greaves beat T. Nelcer. Nelcer opened the fight with a series of straight lefts to the jaw, Greaves contenting himself with telling blows to the body. The second round was marked by hard hitting, Greaves landing alternately on Nelcer's face and body. This bout was outstanding, for the rapid exchange of heavy blows. In the openipg stages the men stood toe to toe and punched it out Opie was unable to stand up to the quick succession of blows and tired considerably towards the end of the first round The second round opened with an exchange of straight lefts to the jaw. Then Urwin opened up and connected repeatedly with Opie's face. Opie was unable to stand up to the rain of punishing blows, and the referee stopped the bout. '"
