WALTON SCHOOL

ANNUAL PICNIC Ideal weather conditions favoured the annual picnic of the Walton School, which was held on Saturday at Mr Kennedy's property. The members of the School Committee, Messrs Fallowfield (chairman), Buchanan, Glover and Shearer, were i indefatigable in their efforts to make the outing a success. Mesdames Buchanan, Kennedy and Shearer rendered excellent service at the refreshment stalls. A comprehensive programme of events had been arranged by the head teacher (Mr A. Bowie), assisted by Miss M. Bell and Miss D. Kaye. As requested by the Education Department, most of February's school time has been spent in outdoor activities, and the health of the pupils has benefited accordingly, particularly by means of an intensive course of swimming instruction given by the school staff.
