FREE KINDERGARTENS

BREAK-UP CEREMONIES Kaikorai The closing function at the Kaikorai Free Kindergarten took place on Thursday morning, when the children entertained their parents and friends with a programme of songs and games. After the gifts had been presented Mrs J. R. Glendining, vice-president of the Free Kindergarten Association, thanked all those who had assisted in any way towards the smooth running of the kindergarten. She paid a special tribute to the local committee, all the members of which had held office for many years and had worked together so well for the kindergarten. She assured the mothers that the council appreciated their co-operation and assistance, and she thanked the staff under Miss J. Neill for their loyal services. She also expressed thanks to the Management Committee of the Kaikorai Presbyterian Church for the use of Sutherland Hall as a kindergarten. Miss Kelsey—a large "Peter Rabbit." Mrs R. A. Ewing, president of the association, welcomed those' present and paid a tribute to all the workers on the local committee, in the Mothers' Club and on the staff under Miss Holland.
