VALOMA IN WORK

SOUTHLAND TROTTING NOTES (Special to Daily Times) INVERCARGILL,, Oct. 14. Voloma continues to do good work at Winton, and the Adioo Guy mare will be well forward when she contests the Invercargill Cup at the end of the month. She is a very sensible mare and one of the most dependable in commission. Members of A, McLellan’s team have done well of late, the number including Capri. ‘Prince Charles Suncup and Real Gold, and all will be ready for early racing. Real Gold has not shown any of the unsoundness which has continually troubled him. Suncup’s solidness will stand to her, while Prince Charles raced well enough earlier in his career to suggest that he would take a tight mark. He is a half-brother by Erin's King to Queen’s Own and Country King, two good winners. Several newcomers are set down to race for the first time at Gore on Labour Day. This number includes Worthy Cross, a four-year-old gelding by Worthy Bond from Suncross, a useful winner of a few seasons back, by Sungod from Cross Battery; Sister Polly, a four-year-old mare by Wrack from Our Nurse, the dam of Probation, Sure and others: Honest Charles, a five-year-old gelding by Wellington Direct from Seaward Spot, who has produced Seaward de Oro and several others: Dewey Bell, a six-year-old mare by Frank Dewey from Rona Bell and a member of R Townley, jun.’s team; Indianapola. a four-year-old mare by Wrack from Reform, the dam of Young Frank. Eighteen Carat has been transferred to an Epsom stable and will in future do his racing in the Auckland province. The Sungod gelding has not raced with much success since he left Southland, but solidness was always a feature of his efforts, and he took a two-mile record of 4min 22 2-ssec. He is still handilv assessed, and as he has proved himself on good and bad tracks he should pay his way in the north
