NEW FIRE STATION

OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The ceremony of officially opening the new fire station in Welling- : ton was performed to-day by his Excellency (Viscount Galway), who ■ was accompanied by Lady Galway. :His Excellency opened the main ; doors of the station with a gold key Isurmounted with a fireman’s helmet hnd two crossed axes in miniature, which was presented to him by the architects. Messrs Mitchell and Mitchell. The proceedings included addresses by Lord Galway, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr W. S. Parry) and the Minister of Education (Mr P. Fraser), who is the member for the district, and a display by the brigade.
