NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS ALLOTTED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association:—Patron, Viscount Galway; president, Mr R. W. McVilly; chairman, Mr H. I. Austad; hon, secretary and treasurer, Mr H. McCormick; Administration Committee—the president, secretary, chairman, and Mr F. M. Reid; Reinstatement Committee —Messrs Reid, J. A. Gasson, and A. L. Stevens; Finance Committee—the president, Messrs G. S. Leeder, and C. A. Willis; Records Committee —Messrs Leeder, D. Macpherson, and P. Wilson; delegates to the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association — Messrs Austad, Reid, and Leeder, overseas representatives —Dr A. E. Porritt (England), Dr A. S. Lamb (Canada), Mr Ira G. Emery (South Africa), and Mr E. S. Marks (Australia) • A financial loss of £229 on the tour of the Japanese athletes, Togami and Murakoso, was reported, , , The national cross-country championships for 1938 were allotted to the West Coast and the track and field championships for 1939 to Hawke’s Bay. ...... It was decided to invite Australia to send a team to next year’s crosscountry championships.
