MOTORIST’S DANGEROUS DRIVING FINED AND LICENCE SUSPENDED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 1, Charged with driving a motor car in a manner which might have been dangerous to the public, Thomas Curtis appeared in the Magistrate’s Court before Mr C. R. Orr Walker. S.M. D. A. Gray, a master at Dilworth School on the Great South road, said that the defendant passed the schc il at 45 miles an hour while witness was wailing to take a party of boys across the road. The defendant said that the accelerator pedal of his car became disconnected with the result that the car speeded up temporarily. The magistrate said he could not accept the explanation and imposed a fine of £5 and costs, and suspended the defendant’s licence for two months, saying that he did so to warn other motorists against speeding past schools.
