MARKETING LEGISLATION DISCUSSED BY THE CABINET CANBERRA, August 12. The Federal Cabinet discussed the dislocation of marketing legislation as the result of the Privy Council decision. Cabinet had the benefit of Mr R. G. Menzies’s assistance, but after eight hours’ deliberation was unable to reach a conclusion whether a referendum should be held early in the new _year or in conjunction with the general election at the end of next year. The matter is now referred to the Premiers’ Conference at Adelaide. MACHINES FOR AIR FORCE LONDON, August 11. The Associated Press understands that the Air Ministry, in response to an appeal from Sir Archibald Parkhill (MinL'er of Defence) has reversed its decision not to supply machines to the Royal Australian Air Force, owing to pressure on the British programme. It has agreed to supply 90 planes, comprising 18 Seagull Amphibians, 36 Hawker Demon Fighters, aifd 36 Avro Ansons. The first consignment will leave for Australia in a few weeks. TRUST BUILDING TO BE SOLD SYDNEY, August 12. (Received August 13, at 1.30 a.m.) The Trust Building, formerly the Daily Telegraph premises, has been sold, subject to the approval of the Equity Court, for £273,000. The Public Trustee will seek the ratification of the court it any moment.
