FAREWELL TO MR JORDAN SERVICES TO LABOUR PARTY (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 11. The future High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, was accorded a farewell by members of the Government Party at a caucus this evening, after the House of Representatives had adjourned for the midwinter recess. Mr Jordan will be leaving Now Zealand before the House resumes on July 21 to represent the Dominion at the Assembly of the League of Nations at Geneva in September. At that meeting New Zealand is likely to be elected to a seat on the League Council, and Mr Jordan, before he takes up the High Commissioncrship at the end of the year, will be the Dominion's representative on the Council. The Prime Minister (Mr Savage) and other members of the Government paid a tribute io Mr Jordan's services as a member "of the Parliamentary Labour Party for many years and as the senior Government Whip during the present session. The presentation of travelling bags was made to Mr Jordan and an envelope with a substantial cheque enclosed was given to Mrs Jordan. The question of Mr Jordan's status before ho assumes the High Cornmissionership is to be determined by the Cabinet in the near future.
