PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ SPORTS

ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The fifteenth annual meeting of the Otago State Primary Schools’ Sports Association was held yesterday. There was a representative attendance, and the president (Mr G. Swan) occupied the chair. Formally moving the adoption of the annual report, the chairman congratulated the secretary on the exhaustive nature of tlie report. The year had been a busy one, but it had also been a successful one. One of the chief successes bad been the athletic meeting, for which record entries were received. The sub-associations were also progressing satisfactorily. An application for affiliation had been received from a new sub-association in the Gatlins district and another was being formed in Wnitaki. This would bring the number of sub-associations to 10. The association was in a sound financial position, and this was largely due to the increased receipts from the athletic and swimming meetings. He wag glad to say that it would probably be possible to give some assistance this year to school committees. Mr L. B. Bradstock seconded the motion, which was carried. The balance sheet was adopted without discussion. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the incoming year resulted 8s follows: —President, Mr L. B. Bradstock;' vice-presidents, Messrs H. Mr Hanna remarked that there was no necessity to emphasise the importance of the work and it was good to know that the teachers were carrying it out with enthusiasm and were receiving support from the parents. A committee consisting of Messrs G. Swan. C. A. Hill. L. Hubbard, A. Hanna. A. P. Roydhouse and L. Brown was set up to consider the arrangements for the annual drill display and submit a report.
