A CHALLENGE TO MR NEILSON

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Not being one of those who habitually use your correspondence columns I have so far refrained from personallv answering the allegations of Mr NeilsoYi. M.P., that I stated I was out " to keep people on the bread line." In the first place I did not use the words as framed by Mr Xeilson; secondly, the statement that I had made them was emphatically denied by Mr Knight, the chairman of the Hospital Board when the accusation was first made that I had used them; and thirdly, the editor of the Evening Star printed a footnote to Mr Neilsons letter that he had interviewed me and I had denied using them. I now challenge Mr Neilson as a public man to prove his statement either by bringing others who were present or producing the notes of the official present 1 am, etc., J. W. ScuRR.
