At the adjourned inquiry into the fall of Gay Chief on the opening day, the judicial stewards found that the mishap was caused by careless riding on the part of P. Atkins, the rider of Mandamus, in coming in too quickly. Atkins was suspended for three mouths, the penalty to operate from after the Plunkct Nursery Handicap to-day.
