SUNDAY SERVICES

The Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will be " The Homing Instinct." , At First Church (Communion .Sunday) the Rev. W. Allen Stevely's subjects will be " The Banquet of Grace " in the mornj ing, and in the evening "A White Stone." The quartet " Bread of the World in Mercy Broken" and the anthem " God So Loved the World" will bo rendered. Dr V. E. Gahvay will be the organist.

The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson, of Christchurch, will be the preacher, both morning and evening, at the Hanover Street Baptist Church. In the evening the choir will render the anthem "After the Daylight." The services at the Methodist Central Mission will be conducted in the morning by the Eev. T. Skuse, and in the evening the Rev. L. B. Neale will conduct the services. Harvest thanksgiving will be observed at both services. A special cantata will be rendered at the evening service. ' At St. Stephen's Church the sacrament of the Lord's supper will be observed at the morning service, and a supplementary communion after the service an the evening. In the evening he subject will be "The Greatest Discovery." At both services the preacher will be the Rev. Thomas Miller. The Sunday school picnic will be held to-day at Bethune'e Gully. Services at the United Congregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft. At 11 a.m. he will speak on " Man's Burden and Help/'. and in the evening his subject will be "The Bridal Search." Mrs L. J. Smith will be the soloist. Mr E. H. Densem, medical student, will conduct the morning service at Trinity Methodist Church to-morrow, In the evening the Rev. C. H. Olds will be the preacher, his subject being " What Money Can Do." The anthem Will be "To Thee, Great Lord." Special addresses will be given at York Place Hall to-morrow by Mr Philip Lewis, familiarly known, especially in Australia, as "The Wandering Jew." Durintr the last 37A years Mr Lewis has covered about 276,000 miles preaching the Gospel. His subject at 4 p.m. will be " The Near Return of the Lord in Relation to the Jew," and at 0.30 p.m., " From Judaism to Christ." A phrophetic lecture will be given on Thursday next at 7.30 p.m. by Mr E. L. Maindonald, and also on the following Saturday at 7 p.m. a locture on the "Pilgrim's Progress," illustrated bv lantern slides. First Church of Christ, Scientist, will conduct services in Allbell Chambers, Stuart street. The subject of the morning and evening services will be " Substance." Divine service will be held at the Greater World Christian Spiritual Mission, a trance being given through Mrs Brooks. The subject, being " The Christ in You," should be of great interest to seekers after truth. Spiritual clairvoyance will follow, and also after circle. A welcome is extended to all. At the Theosophical Society meeting there will be an address by Mrs A. J. Pollard entitled " Citizens of To-morrow. The Salvation Army, Dowling street, will hold its harvest thanksgiving services to-morrow. These special services will be conducted bv Major and Mrs Gray. The harvest decorations have been arranged by Mr R. Hughson. The scries of services will be continued on Monday and Tuesday nights. Everybody is welcome " Plraros," the Egyptian control of Mrs Gluyds Davies, will tfive u trance address at the Spiritualist Church to-morrow evening the subject to be chosen by the audience. There will be clairvoyant descriptions and messages. Iho Healing Centre will meet on Monday evening. Services of Divine worship at the Moray Place Congregational Church will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Johnson, A.T.S., of Wellington. The choir will siiv the anthem " How Lovely are the Messengers " (Mendelssohn).
