RUGBY UNION
THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE PROPOSED CHANGE IN CONSTITUTION (Peb United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., March 10. The proposal emanating from Manawatu that there should be a change in the constitution of the New Zealand Rugby Union so that the Management Committee should be more representative of the whole Dominion was discussed at a conference of union delegate*! from various parts of the North Island to-night, when it was agreed that it was desirable in the interests of Rugby that the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby , Union should not be confined to the residents of one Rugby district, but that as far as practicable it should be representative of all parts of New Zealand. It was explained that at present the Management Committee was elected from Wellington solely, that individual unions were totally disfranchised, and that the Management Committee had full control to the exclusion, of delegates. Suggested amendments to the constitution to bring about the reform desired were framed.
