BETTING ON FOOTBALL

POSITION IN ENGLAND THE LEAGUE’S DECISION LONDON, March 9. After a two-hours’ meeting the Football Association decided to revert to normal fixtures and to rescind the previous resolution describing football pools ns a menace, the feeling being that the question of pools was no concern of the league. The question of the copyright of fixtures was referred to the Management Committee.

The reversion to normal fixtures does not mean that matches scheduled for the next few Saturdays will stand, since, during Hie last two’weeks, several fixtures were taken from the fixtures some weeks ahead. These will bo replaced logically by matches which should have been played on the last two Saturdays. For instance, the fixtures on March 14 will bo the fixtures scheduled for February 29, apart from the second division, where the matches will be held as origimill" arranged.
