Port Caroline and Hertford will sail finally from Port Chalmers for the United Kingdom. SLIPS ON ROADS Slips which occurred on several roads in the borough as a result of the recent heavy rain arc now being cleared away. The heaviest slip was on the Cemetei’y road, which was blocked to such an extent that an alternative X’oad had to be used by traffic. There were several small slips between Port Chalmers and the Spit, but these did not interfere with traffic. On the other side of the harbour a large quantity of sand was carried across the road near the Kaik, and a large slip occurred in the vicinity of Harrington Point, where a rock over a toil in weight came down and blocked the road.
