RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association was held last night. The president (Mr A. Thomas) occupied the chair. COMMITTEES’ REPORTS. On behalf of the Billiards Committee, Mr W. F. Forrester reported that it had bceu decided to purchase new cushions for the match table. Approved. ■ Mr J. M, White, on behalf of the Anzac Day Committee., reported that arrangements were well in hand for the Anzac Day services and parade. —Approved. The reports of the Finance, Poppy Day, Lands and Hospital Visiting Committees were approved. NOMINATIONS. The following nominations and transfers were received and approved; New members, 6; new honorary members, ‘2: transfers in, 1; transfers out, 2. DOMINION MEMBERSHIP. A circular was received from Dominion headquarters advising that the total membership of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association to January 31 was 22,990. GENERAL. On the motion of Mr White, it was decided that a letter of congratulation be sent to Sir Charles Statham on his appointment to the Legislative Council. Mr White said that Sir Charles had been the association’s honorary solicitor for many years and they would all be pleased to see that his services to the country had not been overlooked.
