Mr J. L. Napier left for Wellington on Saturday morning. Mr Justice Kennedy left by the express on Saturday morning to attend the '.ittincs of the Court of Appeal in Wellington. A Press Association cable message states that Mr Douglas Fairbanks, sen,, and Lady Ashley were married at the Paris Town Hall on Saturday. On the eve of her approaching marriage Miss Gladys Johnson, head of Messrs Brown, Ewing'a mail order department, was met by the members of the staff at the afternoon tea recess on Thursday and presented with a handsome dinner set and a set of crystal Pjblets and water jug. The manager (Mr b. Lawn), who made the presentation, referred t» Miss Johnson's long and happy association with the firm, and conveyed his best wishes and thos.e of the stall for her future happiness. Miss Johnson briefly replied. . . , The Union air liner Konmako left Taieri at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday with Mr It. F. Barr as a passenger for 1 aimerston North. The Karoro' arrived at 12.50 p.m. on Saturday with Miss fc>. Thomas from Blenheim and Dr Walton Bremner from Cliristehurcfa. The Karoro left Taieri at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday with no passengers from Dunedin, and the Kotuku arrived at 1.25 p.m. without passengers. The Kotuku was delayed bi severe southerly weather experienced on the south-bound journey. The Kotuku will leave Taieri at 11.30 a.m. to-day with Miss C. Uren booked for Om* church and Mr J. L. Gardner booked fo. Palmerston North.
