GARDEN FETE

The garden fete held at Mrs J. B. Dawson's residence, "Redwood," Roslyn, on Saturday for the purpose of augmenting the funds of the Y.W.C.A. Health and Recreation Department, was to a considerable extent marred by the inclement weather. Mrs Dawson kindly allowed the organisers the use of her drawing room for the accommodation of the sweet and cake stalls, and a quoits competition was also held indoors, but all the competitive games had to be abandoned. The Kaikorai Band was in attendance, and provided an enjoyable programme of music.
