HINTS
Soft collars, so fashionable and so comfortable, are much improved if put 'into thin hot water starch and ironed when slightly damp. It is printed on most of the collars, “Do not starch,” but the hot water starch does not harm them, and makes them lie so much better. If possible, dry them outside, even on a string fixed up outside a window, as it gives them a better bleaching and appearance. To mend a sieve, fold back the broken ends of the wires, and darn them with fine string, like an ordinary darn. The sieve will last a long time.
