AEROPLANE DAMAGED

MISHAP WHILE TAKING OFF COLLISION WITH A SHEEP (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, January 12. The under-carriage and propeller of a Western Federated Flying Club's Moth plane were completely smashed this morning when the machine struck a sheep as K. Martin was taking off for Eotorua with a passenger. The plane had gone about 100 yards when the propeller struck the sheep, which was caught by the under-carriage. The under-carriage was torn off and the plane came to rest level on the ground. Damage was done to the lower wings, but the pilot and passanger escaped injury.
