NOTABLE VISITORS
VISCOUNT AND VISCOUNTESS BRIDPORT (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, January 12. With the intention of spending a month's holiday in New Zealand, Viscount and Viscountess Bridport arrived at Auckland on Saturday by the Mariposa. They are a young couple who were married in 1934 and have since been spending some time in travelling. On their way to New Zealand they made a tour of the East and also visited Australia, and after their stay in the Dominion they propose to visit Honolulu. Viscount Bridport is a member of a family which has long been prominently associated with the Royal Navy. His father, as a naval lieutenant, was killed at Gallipoli in 1915, and Viscount Bridport succeeded his grandfather in 1924. He was in the navy himself for a time, but resigned in 1933. He is 24 years of age. Both Viscount and Viscountess l Bridport said they had heard many enthusiastic accounts of the scenic attractions of New. Zealand, and were looking forward eagerly to their stay in the country.
