MODEL YACHTS

The Vauxhall Model Yacht Club sailed a series of races on Saturday afternoon. The course was from Hogg's waterfront; across the harbour to Vauxhall. The wind was from the east-north-east and was not steady. Since the Vauxhall Club introduced the 3ft 6in A class models iu 1933 it was decided to race all cup races off scratch, and some very fine racing has been the result. Saturday's race produced a fine finish, four models crossing the line within seconds of each other. Results:— : ■ ' ,

Vauxhall A Class (all off scratch).— W. G. Iles's Onaway 1, J. Smith's Maiona 2, G. Iles's Seloam 3. 2ft 6in Class.—J. Rendell's Dorothy 1 (only boat to finish).
