SEA LION AT ST. CLAIR

TO the editor. ... Sir, —Being a lover of animals I could not let this opportunity pass of bringing to your notice the unwarranted exhibition of cruelty to the sea lion at St. Clair Beach on Sunday afternoon. To see children torturing this poor creature with sticks and setting dogs upon it was to witness a very poor display of British fair play. The fact that adults seemed tc enjoy the “ show ” made matters worse. I would like to commend the young lady who stood guard in the end and kept the dogs at bay. Trusting that the S.P.C.A. or the local authorities will go out of their way to protect this poor creature, which I consider is a wonderful attraction. —I am, etc., Disgusted Visitor.
