Ihis is ;i talc about an egg; and such an egg (eays the Auckland Star). Mrs E. 11. Stanborough, of 25 Windsor street., Panic]!, was attracted recently to her fowl run by the loud and triumphant call of a Black Orpington hen. At no time previously had the hen shown herself to be extraordinary; but such is the characteristic of genius. She has infinite ability to take pains. Mrs Stanborougb made an examination, and there, the pride of the hen's heart, was an egg, a superegg. It weighed (>\o/.. It was Olin round the long oval, and Bin round the middle. It has not yet been broken, so no oris knows how many yolks there are there: but there must be at least three. The hen, is in no wise the worse for her effort. She is. in fact, no different, except that perhaps she walks with an added strut.
