A fastmoving story of adventurous romance, it deals with a society murder mystery against a background of modern-day newspaper life. Two famous stars, never teamed before, share honours. They are Clark Gable and Constance Bennett, who are stated to go a long w r ay as a team. Indications are that they will follow in the footsteps of the famous CrawfordGable and Shearer-Gable combinations, so popular with patrons. In this film Gable plays a hard-boiled newspaper editor, who.is determined to get his story even though! it requires the tactics of the North-west Mounted. Constance Bennett plays his beautiful society reporter—and romantic nemesis, Billie Burke, is also in the cast. The supports include a news, oddity, musical revue in colour, and a Todd-Kelly comedy—an M.-G.-M. programme. GENERAL NEWS A meeting of members of the Oamaru branch of the Labour Party will be held to-morrow night in the band room, ground floor, Star and Garter buildings, for the purpose of discussing general business. Though threatening, with showers, at mid-day, the weather held fine for Sunday afternoon, when the Municipal Band marched through the streets and attracted a good attendance to the Oamaru Public Gardens. The band has been practising ateadily, under Conductor H.' Pheloung, in view of the coming band contest at Oamaru next month, and is at present in excellent form, so that the programme of music in the gardens was greatly appreciated by the crowd. The numbers were .as follows: —Marches, "Challenge" (Calvert), and "North Star"; hymn, "Govarrs"; overture, "John o' Gaunt" (Rimmer); air varje, "Sandon" (Allsopp): valse, _ "Tesoro Mio" (Becucci): and euphonium solo, "Bedouin Love Song" (Pinsuti).

ST. KEVIN'S COLLEGE PROCESSION OF BLESSED SACRAMENT The annual Procession of the Blessed Sacrament was held in fine weather at St. Kevin's College. Redcastle, on Sunday afternoon in honour of Christ the King. The flowering shrubs and trees were a wealth of bloom, and the lawns and flower beds were in perfect trim, and the college group of buildings finished off an ideal picture. Many travelled out by bus and car. while others preferred to enjoy the walk along the North road. Through the avenue aud the college garden two temporary altars were showing in a rural scene, one on the steps of the main entrance and the second under the shade of a large oak tree. The procession was made up of 16 different units, in the following order: —Cross bearer and acolytes, St. Thomas Academy boys, St. Patrick's School, St. Joseph's and Teschemakers girls, Children of Mary (wearing their blue and white regalia), Regimental Band and St. Patrick's Choir, St. Kevin's scholars, St. Kevin's old boys, Holy Name Society, Hibernian Society, Catholic laity, altar boys, Christian Brothers, canopy bearers, aud priests. The Very Rev. Father J. J. O'Reilly, P.P., delivered an eloquent discourse appropriate to the occasion, carried the Blessed Sacrament in the procession, and gave the benediction, assisted by the Rev. Fathers Marlow and Walk. The procession marched round the rectangular roadway that skirts the lawns and gardens, and the most casual visitors listening in the distance could not fail to be impressed by the mingled notes of the band and the voices of those taking part as they re-echoed from hills. The whole function was a moael • of order, reverence, and devotion.
