GALES AND FIRES

CALIFORNIAN VISITATION AN EARTHQUAKE FOLLOWS (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LOS ANGELAS, October 24. (Received Oct. 25, at 9 p.m.) Changing winds swept the Malibu Hills forest fire out of control again late to-day, after damage amounting to 8,000,000 dollars had already been done in Southern California by crop damaging gales and fires during the past two days. No loss of life has been reported. Four hundred fire fighters have been treated for minor burns, and scores were overcome by heat and smoke. Early to-day a distinct earthquake was felt through most of Southern California, but no damage was done.
