ELECTION DAY
FIXED FOR NOVEMBER 27 A MONTH'S CAMPAIGNING (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, October 22. The date of the general election has been fixed for November 27. This announcement was made in the House of Representatives tonight by the Prime Minister, Mr Forbes. "We hope," Mr Forbes said, " that if we can get the Bills from the law draftsman we will be able to finish by at least Friday night and thus enable members to get away to their electorates and begin the election contest." Mr Parry: Is there going to be a contest? Mr Forbes: There seems to be a good deal of activity in the country anyway.
