THIRTY-FIVE CHARGES PREFERRED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 21. Albert William Burton, aged 37, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to 35 charges of false pretences, obtaining £lo7 in cash, and also benzine, oil and groceries valued at £l9. The police said the accused attached false numbers to his motor car. His method was to present valueless cheques, usually for £5 10s, to purchase goods valued at ss, obtaining the change. Mr F. K. Hunt remanded him till Wednesday for sentence.
