AMERICAN TOURISTS

Though for the time being the war in North Africa is likely to affect to a certain degree the number of visitors to New Zealand from Britain and Europe, on the other hand information is forthcoming from the trade and tourist commissioners both in Canada and Western America that, for the same reason, a large increase in American visitors is to be expected. Cabled reports to this effect have been received in the past week by the Tourist and Publicity Department and prompt steps have been taken to take advantage of the opportunity offering. Increased advertising by all methods is being undertaken and special allotments for this purpose have been allocated to the commissioners.
