JOHN M'GLASHAN COLLEGE

SUCCESSFUL GARDEN FETE Despite the threatening weather conditions on Saturday afternoon, there was an attendance of over 500 at the garden fete and bazaar which was held in tha John M'Glashan College grounds, and the effort, which was launched by the Grounds Committee to raise funds for improvements to the school grounds, was gratifyingly successful. The members of the committee were Mrs H. L. Cook and Messrs A. C. Cameron, J. M. Eraser, R. Lee, and R. G. C. M'Nab. Pony ricfes were very popular with the children, and everyone took a keen interest in a tortoise, reputed to be over 150 years old, which was on exhibition. . A complete moving picture show was installed in Balmacewen House and this was under the charge of Messrs J. M. Fraser, Hugh Neill and S. D. Blomfield. The stalls were conducted by the following : _Work stall—Mrs R. G. C. M'Nab and lady members of the school staff; produce stall, Mrs A. R. Falconer and Mrs W. H. Borrie; book stall, Mrs Mackie Begg; plant and flower stall, Mrs H. L. Cook and Mrs James Begg; cake stall, Mrs J. M. Stevenson; sweet stall, Mrs H. D. Skiriner; afternoon tea, Mrs C. O.
