(Received May 12/at 6.30 p.m.) Tony Canzoneri staged a sensational upset at Madison Square Garden to-night by regaining the light-weight championship through a clear-cut victory over Lou Ambers for a 15-round decision. The referee and the two judges were unanimous for Canzoneri on points. The fighters weighed 1331 b and 13331 b respectively. Canzoneri lost the championship in 1933. The champion Barney Ross recently relinquished the crown as he was overweight. Sporting opinion favoured Ambers owing to his youth and hitting ability, but Canzoneri out-boxed him throughout.
