BOXING LIGHT-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) NEW YORK, May 11. (Received May 12/at 6.30 p.m.) Tony Canzoneri staged a sensational upset at Madison Square Garden to-night by regaining the light-weight championship through a clear-cut victory over Lou Ambers for a 15-round decision. The referee and the two judges were unanimous for Canzoneri on points. The fighters weighed 1331 b and 13331 b respectively. Canzoneri lost the championship in 1933. The champion Barney Ross recently relinquished the crown as he was overweight. Sporting opinion favoured Ambers owing to his youth and hitting ability, but Canzoneri out-boxed him throughout. He was on ihe verge of scoring a knockout in the third round, when he twice had Ambers on the floor. ROWING AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)
