ARRESTED AFTER CHASE
MEMBERS OF WATERFRONT GROUP DICE FOUND BY POLICE (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 10. Three cars loads of police and detectives suddenly arrived about noon to-day at a piece of the reclaimed grounds on the waterfront, and the occupants, leap ing out, sprinted towards a group of some 30 or 40 men. The men were seated on poles arranged in the form of a rectangle. A scout gave the alarm, and the group immediately scattered. The police had to run hard and tackle low, but about 15 of the men were detained and their names and addresses were taken. The others escaped through neighbouring premises. Workers in adjacent buildings cheered the chase. It is understood that some of the men detained admitted that they had been playing two-up. The police found a leather dice box and some dice, the latter irarked with spots and squares to indicate heads and tails.
