POST OFFICE REVENUE

UPWARD TREND DISCLOSED RETURN TO BETTER DAYS (Pee United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 28. The Director-general of the Post and Telegraph Department, Mr G. M'Namara, announced to-day that the revenue ot the Post Office under all headings was disclosing an uoward trend. While gratification was to be found in the increased business, an even greater satisfaction was to be derived from the indication the figures gave of a return to the Dominion of better days. For the seven months ended October 31 last the revenue of the several branches was as follows (the figures tor the corresponding period last year being shown in parentheses) : Postages, £646,126 (£643,172). Telegraphs, £156,159 (£149,640). Tolls, £244,314 (£225,451). Telephones, £713,004 (£690,965). Total net revenue, £1,921,200 (£1,821,689). tiKMtWI Total net expenditure, £1,546,09/ (£1,469,850).
