ALEXANDRA AMATEUR MEETING Amateur athletes who contemplate a holiday about the end of the year should find Central Otago especially attractive. Three meetings are to be held, the first at Waipiata ou December 26, one at Cromwell on December 29, and the third at Alexandra on New Year* Day. The programme for the Alexandra meeting, ■which will be conducted by the Alexandra Caledonian Society, is now to hand. It is an attractive one, including running, cycling, and field events. The programme is as follows: —100 Yards Novice, 440 Yards Open, 120 Yards Hurdles, 880 Yards Open, 440 Yards Low Hurdles, 120 Yards Alexandra Challenge Cup, One Mile Goldfields Handicap, 120 Yards Central Otago Handicap (residents only), 220 Yards Ladies, Putting the Shot. Discus. Broad Jump. Pole Vault, Hop, Step, and Jump, Javelin, High Jump, Throwing the Hammer. Half Mile, One Mile, Two Mile, and Three Mile cycling races will also be hold.
