CAR CRASHES INTO TELEGRAPH POLE . (Per United Press Association.) GISBORNE, November 28. Due to the steering gear locking a car driven by Mr D. G. Robertson, fie|ss inspector in the Lands Department, crashed into a telegraph pole on Ormond road this morning. Mr J. W. Pearce, one of the six occupants of the car, was seriously injured about the head. A MAN'S DEATH (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, November ,28. ' Joseph Dykes, aged CO, was discovered at his home at Waitoa road, Hataitai, this morning with his throat cut. He was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed shortly afterwards. FALL FROM LADDER Injuries to the left knee were received by Mrs Hazel Jamieson, who lives at 185 Bay View road, when- the step ladder she was using at her home yesterday afternoon collapsed. She was admitted to the Hospital at 6.40 p.m. ACCIDENT IN QUARRY James Ball, a married man, 53 years of age, who lives at Wakari, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday morning suffering from a fractured leg. He received the injury while at work in the Harbour Board's quarry at Port Chalmers.
