THE WEATHER
Changeable weather was experienced on Saturday. A strong south-west wind prevailed, with sunshine in the morning and some showers in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees. The weather yesterday was fine in the morning, with an occasional shower, but in the afternoon the sky became overcast. A fresh south-west wind blew during the day. The barometer rose steadily throughout the day and last night's reading was 30.40 in. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH." (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, October 21. A boisterous south-west wind and frequent light, showers on Saturday made the conditions cold and wintry. To-day was line and sunny, the wind being a light southerly. The barometer has risen to 30.20 in. CHRISTCHURCH. October 21. The weather was cold and unsettled in Christchurch yesterday. A heavy shower in the afternoon interfered widi outdoor sports. A cold southerly was blowing this morning, but moderated 111 tlw afternoon, when there was bright sunshine. The barometer is steady at about 30.1 Oin.
