ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
BOY FALLS FROM TREE While birdnesting yesterday afternoon in the vicinity of the Fernhill Club, a 13-year-old boy named Verdon Shaw, who lives with his parents at 105 Maitland street, fell 40 feet from the branch of a tree to the ground. He suffered severe shock and internal injuries, necessitating his removal to the Hospital. A FRACTURED ANKLE N Mrs Florence Reid : aged 30 years, who lives at 15 Grandview terrace, Opoho, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon with a fractured ankle. She received the injury when she slipped on the floor at her home. A LACERATED KNEE Charles Dickinson, 11 years of age, who lives at Macandrew Bay, was riding a bicycle down a hill yesterday morning when he fell from the machine and received a badly lacerated knee. He was admitted to the Hospital at 11.30 a.m. DEATH OF HORSE TRAINER (Special to Daily Times) WELLINGTON, October 21. The well-known Trentham trainer T. Pritchard, one of three brothers, aH connected with the sport, was taken with a seizure on the course at the races on Saturday. He was conveyed to hospital, where he died later. Pritchard was in his early days a successful rider, and after training for some time in the Wairarapa he came to Trentham, where he had charge of Autopay when he won the C.J.C. Stewards Handicap and the A.J.C. Epsom Handicap.
